Frederick Douglass was born into thralldom in the 1800s and was determined to escape it so he could express his voice and beliefs freely. Douglass was born into slavery. He had a rough barbarian hood with his mothers death and constant relocating. He was hard worker and was determined to be free. When he was 12-years-old he was relocated to Maryland where he met Sophia, an intelligent white wo humanitypower. Sophia taught Douglass the firstborn principle and practiced recitation and writing with him, even up though it was against the law. afterwards he was confident in his edition and writing skills he planned to escape towards freedom. He practiced reading and writing and also spread the schooling to other African Americans as he traveled finished his journey to freedom.
